From 1 March 2023, Marcel Baas will start as head of department Communication at the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA). He will lead the Communications Department in the field of (crisis) management and positioning issues.
Marcel worked as a spokesperson, communications manager and director in the public and private sectors. In these positions, he focused on strengthening identity and image, supporting change and progress, and managing issues and crises for various organisations. He currently works as interim manager Communication Space at the municipality of Utrecht on communication issues in the fields of energy transition, sustainable mobility, housing, healthy living climate and economy. Marcel studied journalism at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences.
