More opportunities with MIA/VAMIL in 2023

Investing in environmentally friendly technologies will be made easier in 2023 through the MIA/VAMIL scheme. The total budget in 2023 is 217 million. Companies can use this subsidy to deduct sustainable investments from taxes if the asset is on the currently applicable Environmental List. With the MIA, entrepreneurs can deduct up to 45% investment costs from profits. With Vamil, it is up to 75% at a time of their own choosing. The tax benefit can reach over 14% of the investment amount with MIA-Vamil.

Compared to 2022, 22 new assets have been added. 18 assets are no longer on the list. The Environmental List has been adapted to current themes, such as the transition to a circular economy. Investments on the (new) environment list include biogas generators for local power supply at e.g. festivals, investments in production equipment for fish and dairy substitutes and sustainable building materials such as wooden insulation boards based on residual flows.
