Avian influenza has been detected at a farm with grandparent broiler chickens in Koudum (municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân, province of Friesland). To prevent the spread of the virus, the approximately 29,000 chickens at the site are being culled by the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA).
